How to send an inquiry

Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

An inquiry asks a lawyer whether they can help. It doesn't hold a time, and you don't need an account for it.

Sending one, step by step

  1. On a lawyer's or a law firm's profile, choose Send inquiry.

  2. In About your case, pick the area of law, how soon you need help, your budget and the consultation type. Then describe your situation briefly — 600 characters at most.

  3. In Your details, say whether you're asking for yourself or for a business, and fill in your name, email and phone number.

  4. Confirm that you agree to the Terms of Service and that you're 18 or over.

  5. Choose Send a 6-digit code and enter the code we email you. The right code sends your inquiry straight away.

Important

You can't attach files to an inquiry. Send documents and details in messages once you've booked a consultation with the lawyer.

Inquiries to a law firm

On a law firm's page, pick a particular lawyer, or choose I'm not sure — let the firm assign someone.

Asking about a package

If a lawyer lists a package in their pricing, Request this service next to it opens an inquiry with the message already started.
