Inquiry or consultation?

Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 1 min read

There are two ways to approach a lawyer. The main difference is whether you hold a time.

On this page

Book consultation

Pick a time from the calendar and confirm it in a few steps. It suits you when you already know you want to talk to the lawyer, and want a fixed time. You can only book lawyers who take bookings through CasePilot.

Send inquiry

Describe your situation and get a written reply, without holding a time. It suits you when you first want to find out whether the lawyer can help, and what it would cost.

  • ConsultationA set time, confirmed by the lawyer, with messaging once it's accepted. Your account is created as you book.

  • InquiryA reply by email, with no time held. No account needed, and no attachments.

Tip

In their reply to an inquiry, a lawyer can propose a consultation time straight away.
