What not to put in an inquiry

Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 1 min read

An inquiry only needs to tell the lawyer whether they can help. You don't have to tell the whole story.

What to leave out

Unless it's necessary, don't include anything about your health, about other people, or about criminal proceedings. A few sentences are enough — an inquiry is 600 characters at most, and files can't be attached.

Where to share the details

Send details and documents in messages once the lawyer has accepted your consultation. You can also attach documents to a booking request — up to five files in PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, PNG or WEBP, 4 MB each.

Tip

Even in a booking request, share only what the lawyer really needs to prepare.
