How CasePilot verifies lawyers.
The blue Verified badge means our team has reviewed a lawyer's documents and confirmed their registration as an attorney. This page explains exactly what that review covers — and, just as importantly, what it doesn't promise.
The context
Why verification matters here
In the Czech Republic, the title advokát is protected. Only attorneys registered with the Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora) may provide legal services for pay, and registration means real obligations: a passed bar exam, professional liability insurance, confidentiality duties, and the Bar's disciplinary oversight.
Online, that distinction is invisible. Anyone can put "legal consultant" on a website. Verification exists to make the difference visible again — so that when you compare profiles on CasePilot, you can see at a glance which lawyers have shown us the paperwork behind the title.
Every lawyer joining CasePilot must confirm at registration that they are licensed to practise. The Verified badge is a further, stricter step: it appears only after our team has seen the documents.
The review
What we actually check
A lawyer requesting verification submits two things from their dashboard:
Identity documents
A copy of their Bar association ID and a government-issued ID document, uploaded to private, access-restricted storage. These documents are visible only to our review team — never to clients or other lawyers.
A member of our team reviews each submission manually — there is no automated approval — and confirms that the name, the documents, and the register entry match. Reviews are typically completed within two business days. If something doesn't add up, the request is declined with a written reason, and the lawyer can correct and resubmit.
Verification is available to lawyers on paid plans; the review itself carries no extra fee.
The limits
What the badge does not mean
Honesty about limits is part of trust, so here are the limits. The Verified badge is a statement about documents at the time of our review. It is not:

A guarantee of outcomes.
No lawyer can promise how a court, an authority, or a negotiation will end, and a badge cannot either.

An endorsement of advice.
CasePilot is a marketplace, not a law firm. We do not supervise, review, or take responsibility for the legal services lawyers provide to their clients.

A ranking signal you should read too much into.
Unverified lawyers on CasePilot may simply not have requested verification. Reviews, experience, and a first consultation tell you more about fit than any badge.

Continuous monitoring.
We verify at the time of review. If you believe a profile no longer reflects reality, tell us — that report is part of how the system stays honest.
Seen something wrong? Report it.
If a profile misstates qualifications, if a badge looks wrong, or if your experience with a lawyer raises concerns about their listing, use the report form. A person on our team reads every report, and verification can be re-examined at any time. For conduct concerns about an attorney's professional duties, the Czech Bar Association also operates its own complaints process — we can point you in the right direction.
