How to book a consultation
Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 3 min read
You book straight from the lawyer's profile, and it takes a few minutes. Nothing is paid through CasePilot — you pay the lawyer directly.
Before you start
You'll need an email address; we send a sign-in code to it. If you don't have an account yet, you'll also add your name and phone number. The lawyer sees your contact details once they accept.
Tip
Jot down two or three sentences about your situation, and keep any related documents to hand. The lawyer uses them to prepare.
Booking, step by step
On the lawyer's profile, choose Book consultation.
Pick the reason for the consultation and how you'd like to meet: in person, online or by phone. Each reason shows its length and price.
Choose a day and a free time. Times are shown in Prague time — the lawyer's time.
Add a subject and a short description of your case. You can attach up to five documents.
Confirm that you agree to the Terms of Service and that you're 18 or over.
Send the request. If you're not signed in, enter your email and the code we send you — your request goes out as soon as you're in.
Important
The time is only fixed once the lawyer confirms it. Until then it's a request, and the lawyer can turn it down.
What happens next
The lawyer reviews your request and confirms a time, and we email you the moment they do. Once you're signed in, the consultation is under Bookings, where you can add it to your calendar.
Accepting also opens messaging with the lawyer, and you'll see the details for your kind of consultation:
In personThe address and a map of the meeting place.
OnlineThe video call link, under Join meeting.
By phoneThe number the lawyer will call you from.
When the lawyer has no free times
If the lawyer hasn't published when they're free, you suggest a time yourself: choose the day you're free from, and whether mornings or afternoons suit you better. The lawyer then proposes an exact time for you to confirm. More in When a lawyer has no free times.
